Dimension: 2
The game feels so casual that even seems like a minigame part of something bigger. It's extremely basic. However the graphics were quite elaborate by 1993 standards.
The Flair: A
The graphics aren't bad at all – they actually look pretty good, if a bit cartoonish. But there's no music. While we don't need anything fancy, a simple, catchy tune would’ve spiced things up a bit.
The Feel: 5
The gameplay is slow and pretty rough. You have to keep smashing the fire button to get the fire rate needed to take out all the enemies. There are a few power-ups, but they're all basic and boring. In short, the gameplay is miles away from being fun or exciting.
The Fuel: 6
There's some variety in the levels and enemies, but the game still isn't interesting enough. It quickly gets repetitive and feels pointless.

Conclusions
Despite its uttermost simplicity, Alien Gate still turned out to be a poor and unremarkable game. There's nothing particularly awful about it, it's just nowhere near to being a fun, frantic shoot 'em up title.
