The work behind the original and deep mechanics for a 1985 fighting game is impressive.
The Flair: D
The graphics solid and the soundtrack is iconic. The real-world inspired landscapes are beautiful, and the animations and sound effects when you hit your opponent are especially awesome.
The Feel: E
This was one of the first fighting games to introduce a complex and meaningful move set, and it's still a joy to play today. An incredible achievement. The difficulty curve is well-balanced as you progress.
The Fuel: B
The minigames could be better, but the belt progression is engaging and the high score motivates to keep playing and improving.

International Karate (or World Karate Championship in the US) is a milestone in the history of fighting games. Its introduction of a deep and complex move set and great adversary AI makes it very enjoyable to play, even decades after its release.
