A sports title for a handheld isn't usually much of a heavyweight title, and Mario Tennis isn't really an exception. However, the gameplay is somewhat deep and there's abundance in content, so it's not too light either.
The Flair: D
Top down graphics remotely resemble Pokemon's and there's a significant increase of quality when playing a match. Sprites and backgrounds are polished and well designed. As for the soundtrack, it's also pleasant with quite some catchy themes to play along with your swings.
The Feel: D
The gameplay maintains a perfect balance between simple and rich. RPG elements give it quite some depth and while on the tennis pitch the feeling is truly excellent. Very fun and truly well executed.
The Fuel: D
To be honest, it's pretty packed in content for a handheld title. The single player campaign is very well crafted and adds a lot to the engagement, plus the epilogue is fantastic. Besides the campaign, mini-games are also fun and add some variety with a more casual approach.
