Dimension: 7
A pretty amazing number of levels and reasonably elaborate gameplay made this quite an ambitious title in 1986.
The Flair: C
The art style is endearing, especially the sprites of both the protagonist and the enemies. However, the soundtrack, while not bad, becomes repetitive and a bit annoying over time.
The Feel: B
For the most part, gameplay is fun with plenty to enjoy. The checkpoint system makes for a more forgiving and accessible experience, although some trial and error is required in each level.
The Fuel: A
While the level design is fine, it tends to get repetitive as you progress through the stages. Stage bosses are also a bit dull and very similar to one another.

Conclusions
Wonder Boy is a fun platformer that gracefully follows in the footsteps of pivotal games that came before it. Its forgiving nature in an era when games were usually very tough, makes it a great option for less skilled players who want to enjoy a casual, old-school platformer.
